Tony Leonard

Anthony "Tony" Leonard (born 1947) is an Australian radio presenter.

Originally from Seddon, Victoria, Leonard was an Australian rules footballer who played for the North Melbourne reserves.

In the early 1980s, he joined the Coodabeen Champions, who were then on 3RRR. Following them to 3AW, he began commentating AFL matches in the 1990s. He used to present a Saturday morning show called "Glossing Over" with Trevor Marmalade and Dr. Turf, until it was axed on 21 June 2007, following 3AW's poor ratings in the football timeslots.

Leonard continues to host sports programs on 3AW on weekend afternoons. Leonard's nickname is "the big man that travels by train" given to him by then radio colleague Rex Hunt. This was due to Leonard preferring to travel to an AFL game in Sydney by rail rather than on a plane.
